Attached is a draft of the Lawrence County Portrait of a Graduate. A Portrait of a Graduate is a visual representation of a school district’s and community’s vision for the 21st century skills, character traits, and social-emotional competencies that students need to succeed in school, career, and life.
This draft was developed over the past year by a committee made up of community members, business leaders, parents, and school personnel. It was constructed based on the results of interviews conducted with both adults and students in Lawrence County about the skills they felt a graduate truly needs. It was also designed to include the 4 R’s currently used in classrooms across Lawrence County (respectful, responsible, ready, and relationships). Along the way, the draft was edited based on feedback from other committee members, students, and staff of LC schools.

Lawrence County's Primary Talent Pool and Gifted & Talented Students worked on rich math tasks from KEDC! The Primary Talent Pool also made cards and sent them to The Jordan Center for Valentine's Day!

Today, Friday, February 17, 2023, is Random Acts of Kindness Day! Louisa East Elementary School has been highlighting kindness to their students all week!
We will continue to talk to our students about the dangers of vaping. We ask that you do the same with your child.

The LCHS Bio-Medical Class attended the Gross Anatomy Lab at the University Of Kentucky on Friday, February 10, 2023. The students had a physiology presentation with Dr. Frazier and an anatomy presentation with Dr. Franklin.

The dates of Feb 24, Mar 10, and Mar 24, 2023, will now be regular
school attendance days for students and teachers. The last day of
school for students has changed to May 19th, 2023!

The LCHS Pre-Nursing program is hosting a blood drive on February 17, 2023. THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY! Participants must be in good general health, be 16 years old, and weigh 110+ pounds. Students must have ID and permission slips must be signed.

Louisa Middle School hosted the Super Duper Bowl on Thursday, Feb 9, 2023. The teachers and students had so much fun competing and making memories!
Blaine Elementary School's students enjoyed Magic Monday! Ms. Musick's kindergarten students participated in a fairy tale hospital! Learning made fun!
