Procedures
Nomination Process:
*2 Parents can be elected at FES to sit on the SBDM council.
*Nominations will be submitted through e-mail only. All submissions will need to go to shaunajdr@aol.com.
*Nominations will be from May 11-May 15 by 9pm. After that, NO more nominations will be accepted, and the nominee will be contacted to verify they want to be on ballot.
*The ballot will then be prepared for the official vote.
Voting:
*Voting will take place on Friday, May 19 at FES.
*Voting will be from 2:00- 3:45. No votes will count after 3:45. Voting will be conducted in the lobby at FES.
*There will be no absentee ballots, this is an in person voting only.
*Shauna Ratliff is responsible for administering the election. Votes will be counted as soon as election is over, and the winners will be contacted.
Your child must be entering preschool- through 8th grade and attending FES.
Louisa Middle School hosted the 6th-grade Olympics! The students focus on ancient Greek subject material. The teams compete in athletic events, art competitions, a quick recall match highlighting ancient Greek mythology, and other fun activities!

Louisa East Elementary held a pep rally to energize students before the testing window!
Each grade selected songs and the teachers came into the gym singing and dancing. The students had a phenomenal experience in preparation for testing!

LCHS held its first Educators Rising Signing Day on Tue, May 2, 2023! Congratulations to the five LCHS seniors, who signed "letters of intent" to pursue an educational career!

The LCHS and LMS bands competed in assessments at Morehead State University! Each band received positive feedback! Both bands also held their spring performance concerts, highlighting their growth throughout the school year!

LC Schools Gifted and Talented program held a Discovery Day for 4th-8th grades. There were many STEM activities provided by KVEC, along with a presentation of Ion Jones by the KY Science Center from Louisville, KY!

LC Softball Facility Update! The new facility's infrastructure is up! The red exterior metal paneling and black metal roofing are expected to arrive soon! We are excited to see the finished facility for the LC Softball team!

LC Schools appreciates our community partner, Dr. DeSario with Louisa Eye Care in Louisa, KY. Dr. DeSario has provided job shadowing for LCHS students throughout the years. This year LCHS junior, Kennedy Gauze, was selected to job shadow under Dr. DeSario.

The LCHS Senior Luncheon was hosted by the Louisa Rotary Club on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Louisa First Baptist Church. They have hosted this event for several decades. Thank you to all of the individuals that made this such a special event!
