A BIG thank you goes out to all of our LC Schools Food Service teams, along with Kyla Farley, Food Service Director, and Brettia Hammond, Food Service Clerk, for their outstanding work on our Thanksgiving Dinner! The staff fed 117 adults, 1738 students, and 32 kitchen staff, for a total of 1887 people! We appreciate you and thank you for all you do, especially for our students!
On Friday, Nov 15th, Blaine, Fallsburg, and Louisa West students had the opportunity to participate in the LC Storybook Trail Walk, thanks to our Community Partners! The LC Board of Tourism and the LC Health Department played a crucial role in the production of the LC Storybook Trail Walk. Students enjoyed the book My Active Imagination by stopping at each reading kiosk along the nature trail. Also, students were given healthy snacks by the UK LC Extension Service and presented with books and toys by the Army Corps of Engineers! We are truly grateful for their support and this fantastic activity for our students! Thank you!

Fallsburg Elementary School planned the Pumpkin Painting activity and invited parents to join the fun! It was a picture-perfect day, and the students were so creative with their designs! Teachers used the pumpkins as a learning tool throughout the week leading up to the painting day! Some of the lessons included counting seeds, measuring circumference, and categorizing them by size and color!

This school has been ranked green for the last three years and recently recognized its students and staff with a green, three-peat celebration party! Ms. Kise, FES principal, is so proud of her students and staff for this accomplishment! Fallsburg Elementary School started a free student haircut program last school year! Mrs. Ward, FES guidance counselor, felt there was a need. Stylists and barbers in the community rallied to offer their support and services. Mrs. Ward elaborated that she has witnessed the confidence boost it has had for the students! A big thank you to those who support this program for our kids! We love seeing all of these smiling faces!

The Louisa Fire Department will host an open house at the Louisa Community Center on Pike St. on Oct 12th from 12:00-4:00 PM. Health screenings, fire engine rides, inflatables, fire safety instructions, and food trucks will be on-site! Visit and enjoy the fun!
