The Lawrence County High School Bulldogs had an incredible post-season run this year, making their mark in program history. With a record-breaking 20 wins, it was the most successful season for the team so far!
The Bulldogs reached the regional tournament for the second time in the program's history, the first occurring in 2018 and both under the direction of Head Coach Autumn Blevins.
In the regional tournament, the Dawgs made history once again by securing their first-ever win over Belfry. It was a moment of triumph for the team and a testament to their hard work and skill. However, their journey came to an end when they faced Johnson Central, the eventual 15th Region Tournament champions. Although they didn't advance further, the Bulldogs showcased their talent and resilience throughout the tournament as well as consistently throughout the season overcoming adversity and multiple injuries among players.
Finishing the season with a 20-10 record, the Bulldogs achieved their second consecutive winning season. This marks a significant milestone in the program's history, as it's the only time the team has earned winning records. This success is a testament to the dedication and effort of the players, coaches, and supportive community members.
As the season comes to a close, the Bulldogs bid farewell to two senior players, Ally Huffman and Riley McClanahan. Their leadership and contributions will be missed. The team looks forward to building on their achievements with multiple returning players. Excitement for the sport is brewing within the community, and the future looks promising for the Lawrence County High School Volleyball program.
