LC Schools thanks the LC Youth Football League for their generous donation of $10,000 toward the revitalization of older storage buildings near the football field. This will improve the field's aesthetics and provide access to needed storage for the LCYFL. Thank you!


Congratulations to our Louisa Middle, Blaine, and Fallsburg students who competed in the 2025 Governor's Cup District 72 Competition! We are so proud of all of our students! In the overall results, LMS placed 1st, and BES placed 2nd! Check out the rest of the results!



Lawrence County Schools will be on regular schedule for Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Buses will run on clear roadways.


Tomorrow, Monday, January 27, 2025 Lawrence County schools will operate on a two hour delay. LC bus routes will operate on limited routes. We are excited to see our students tomorrow.


We are heartbroken to share the passing of student Angel Evans, a 7th grader at Blaine Elementary. She was also a member of the LMS basketball team. We will share details on arrangements once made by the family. Please keep Angel’s family and the BES family in your thoughts.

Congratulations to the Lawrence County Wrestling Club! They entered 26 participants in the KFWC Region 6 Youth and Middle School Tournament, with 15 of them qualifying for the state competition. They will compete at the state level in Louisville, KY, on February 1-2, 2025, at Freedom Hall!



LC will have a traditional snow day tomorrow (Friday, Jan. 24)due to icy conditions on bus routes. Low temps have prevented improvement, but warmer weather is expected soon. We will recheck roads this weekend, with the goal of returning to in-person classes on Monday. Stay safe!





Tomorrow (Thursday 1/23/25) Lawrence County Schools will have NTI Day #10. Many of our bus routes still have large areas of ice and snow, and low temperatures have been preventing improvement. Each day, we travel across the county to assess road conditions firsthand, and also stay in communication with local officials, including emergency management, to ensure the best decision for all of our students. Congratulations to Gabe Bowling, Braxton Spense, and Hannah Cox on being selected to perform at the KMEA District 8 All-District Band! The concert was held at Morehead State University's Button Auditorium on January 18th!


It's KY School Board Recognition Month! Today, we spotlight Mrs. Susie Rice, recently elected to serve her first four-year term. Mrs. Rice has previously served three years on the LC Board of Education. She represents District 4, which includes the areas of East/West Louisa and Meadow Brook. We are grateful for the significant impact of her service on our students, staff, and community!


Lawrence County Schools will have a traditional snow day, Wednesday, January 22, due to continued ice and snowy conditions on bus routes and extremely low temperatures expected tomorrow morning. This will become a make-up day at the end of the school year. Stay safe and warm!






Today, we continue to celebrate KY School Board Recognition Month! Today, we highlight Mrs. Garnett Skaggs, who represents District 3, which includes the Blaine, Martha, and Brammer Gap areas. We appreciate her work and dedication to LC Schools!
